Hadley Random Legacy: Gen 1 Chapter 4

Welcome back to the Hadley household. I was curious whether having a parent read the toddler books to the triplets would make them learn the skill faster, but it doesn't seem to have a noticeable effect. Theodore still enjoyed being read to by his mom though.

It finally came time for the triplets to grow up into children. I will just say right off the bat I don't think every one of them finished every toddler skill book. They did get very close though. I'd say they each finished like 6 or 7 out of 9 and I'm going to call that a win. These kids are going to end up being Nearly Perfect Children, and I'm ok with that!

Yeah, technically, you "fail" the legacy if you can't complete any of your rolled goals, but I don't feel like scrapping the Hadleys over a nearly impossible generational goal. I got really unlucky with gen. 2 rolling both 5 kids and perfect children. That's craziness.

Oh for plumbob's sake!

Oliver: "FIRE!"

Fern: *just stands around zoning out*

Oliver: "Mom, there's a huge fire!!!"

Fern refused to put Evelyn down which is understandable given the circumstances so we had to wait for the fire truck to show up. It took three firefighters to put out the blaze! At least we weren't charged for "fraud" this time.

The triplets did eventually manage to age up although without cakes this time. Amid all the chaos I wasn't able to give them their makeovers until the next day.

Henry found time to be rude to Sam though. His grumpiness is already on full display.

Henry: "You're such a dork."

Sam: "Rude. :("

Fern: "Play nicely, children."

Sam: "I can't wait until I move out. I love you guys but you're also a lot."

Theodore and Henry are both werewolves by the way and they transformed right after growing up, probably due to the stress of the house fire. You can see they are both transformed in this picture.

Henry: "I wish this cake was RAW MEAT."

Theodore: "Anyone else exhausted? Growing up is hard work."

Oliver: "Can you guys shut up? I'm trying to do my homework."

Yes, they did manage to replace the table and chairs.

Fern has a huge smile while going into labor with the final baby of generation 2!

Fern: "I love kids! :)"

The final baby of generation 2 is a girl named Hazel! She is Eccentric (like Henry) and Excitable (runs in the family trait).

Her favorites are Geek Rock, Mushroom Omelette and Turquoise.

Finally had a chance to give the triplets their makeovers.

Here is Evelyn. She gained the Night Owl trait.

Theodore with his werewolf eyes. Sorry, he's the only one still in PJs. I am still so amazed at how dominant Leighton's genes have been this generation. Poor Fern lol

Theodore now Hates the Outdoors.

Finally we have Henry with the werewolf eyes too. He strikes me as being more on the alternative side of fashion like his dad so he decided to let his hair grow out too. I am nearly positive he and Theodore are identical.

Henry is now Overly Emotional.

The triplets weren't the only ones having a birthday. It is time for Sam to become a young adult! It seems like just yesterday he was that cute bald baby.

Also, hilariously, he gained the Supernatural Skeptic trait. Sam, your dad and two of your brothers are WEREWOLVES.

Sam: "They're just really hairy."

He picked the Master of the Arts lifetime wish.

The day after his birthday Sam was ready to graduate from high school. He decided to take baby Hazel with him lol

Sam graduated at the top of his class, and he was named "Most Artistic" by his classmates. :)

Leighton: "Damn, why don't they serve food in these things? I'm starving!"

Leighton: "Just want to say how proud of you I am, Sam. You've turned into a wonderful young man!"

Sam: "Thanks, Dad. I still can't wait to move out on my own though, just sayin'"

Leighton: "You'll have to take the bus. I'm sorry we ran out of time to teach you how to drive. :("

Meanwhile Ivy is constantly inviting Fern over to her house. The two had started to grow a little distant but it was nothing a deep conversation couldn't fix.

Fern: "I'm worried about money, Ivy. We're constantly broke even though Leighton and I are pretty high up in our careers. Well, we're mid-level, but you'd think we'd pull in more money. Where does it all go?"

Ivy: "Fern, you have FIVE children. Six if you count Sam but he's about to make his escape. Good for him."

Sam invited over his longtime friend Darlene to the house where he promptly began to flirt with her.

Sam: "Thanks for the mood music, Dad."

Leighton: "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."

Darlene Bunch is actually really pretty. Or at least I think so. Some of the Bunches have interesting features to put it diplomatically.

Oliver: "Who is this random lady? She can't have any of my cake."

The flirting ended up going really well, and it turned into Sam's first kiss. :) Even though it looks like she's rejecting him by turning her face to the side. They are just a little chaste, that's all.

I took a lot of pictures because I think they are adorable, and Sam looks so smitten!

Look how cute they are! It was after this picture (and a little shower woohoo) that Sam moved out to make his own way in the world. I am hoping he will get engaged to Darlene (especially since I may or may not have clicked "Try for Baby" and may or may not have heard a lullaby).

Spoiler Alert: There was totally a lullaby!

Sam: "I don't plan on having anywhere near five kids though. Just throwing that out there right now."

So I completely forgot that with the perfect children goal all children are supposed to max out the blocks table and the oven. They are supposed to get to the top of their afterschool activities as well as having straight A's. Spoiler alert: I forgot to do this with Oliver (he did enroll in Scouts but only got to level 1).

The triplets are going to do their best to achieve these goals though. We'll see how well that goes lol

Even though Sam just moved out, he's already back for Oliver's birthday party, and he brought a turkey.

Sam: "I don't make enough money yet to buy lobster. One day though I will be!"

Oliver's birthday party meant the house was full to the bursting point. Even Bella came over to join in the fun. Fern has been friends with Bella since she was a little girl. Bella must really look up to Fern.

Darlene came over too and promptly started telling spooky stories to the kids.

Darlene: "And that's how you kill a werewolf. With a silver bullet!"

Theodore: "Oh no! You don't have any silver bullets, do you Aunt Darlene? Just asking for...a friend."

Darlene: "Maybe I do...maybe I don't..."

Evelyn: "Boooooring...I'm going to bed."

After Darlene finished terrorizing Theodore with stories of killing werewolves, it was time for Oliver to grow up into a teenager, the first one of this generation (officially since Sam isn't eligible to be the heir).

There is so much going on this picture lol. Unfortunately Leighton is not one of them. I think he was at work.

Oliver is a cutie! He looks like Sam, but I think he has Fern's nose actually.

He gained the Unflirty trait, poor guy.

Oliver: "PDA is gross."

Even though he couldn't be there at the party, Leighton was quick to offer parental advice when he returned home.

Leighton: "Keep hitting the books, Oliver. Keep improving your skills. It's how you get ahead in life."

Oliver: "But Dad, why is school even important? You didn't go to college, and you're fine."

Leighton: "I would have gone if I could afford it, Ollie. We want you kids to have an even better life than us. It's why we're so hard on you about making sure you're learning and improving yourselves all the time."

And now it's time for the final member of generation 2 to become a toddler! That means no more babies for a while. Whew.

Tune in next time to find out if Hazel is another mini-Leighton or if she gets any of her coloring from Fern. Yep, we're leaving it on a mini-cliffhanger!!
